Even though you love me; you hurt me
in subtle little ways you hurt me
Don't know if, it's intentional or unbeknowst
to you, but, you hurt me
After pour'n my heart out to you in confidence
you turn around and hurt me; still you say you
love me; how can that be love; when you hurt me
it's never physical hurt; nonetheless you still hurt me
When you make love to me it's with love'n care;
then you turn around and hurt me; why do you hurt
me so? Is it that I give too much of myself to please
the man I love? Is my love not enough for you?
That is what I feel when you hurt me; self-doubt
is float'n all about; not know'n if, I've done something
wrong to make you hurt me; in little ways; not everyday
but, those little ways that gets under your skin
Make'n me cringe whenever you come near me; fear
is what I feel; can't bear you near me; at times all
I do is still care for you; other times I want to do
harm to you; feel'n like that sets off my alarms tell'n
me there's no point in cause'n harm
So, why do I still love you? If, I can tell when I'm be'n
negative towards you and don't want to harm you;
you need to get in touch with your feel'ns for me
and know when not to hurt me
Mental hurt is worse than physical hurt; its emotional
stress; internal turmoil; starts to spoil the feel'ns we
have for someone we love; don't want to lose you
you're a good man; just need to get in touch with
the softer side of yourself to see that you hurt me
Just those little ways of hurt alerts my inner most
thoughts to the fact that sooner or later I will have
to desert you; rather than have you continue to
hurt me; don't want to change who you are; you
need to collect your thoughts when you're home
alone; reflection is the key to your inner detection
of my feelings of rejection
You hurt me; is it due to my imperfection? I have an
objection; there is only one that is of perfection; that
is God up above; he'll give me my protection from
your misdirection of your affections that gives me
no connection to your introspection
I need you not to hurt me; love is still in my heart for
you overall; you're a good man; eventually you will stand
tall and admit to why you caused my tears to fall
SOME PEOPLE CANNOT UNDERSTAND EMOTIONAL PAIN...THEY JUST DON'T SEE HOW EMOTIONAL PAIN CAN BE JUST AS DEEP, JUST AS PAINFUL AND AS REAL... AS PHYSICAL PAIN. AND SOMETIMES ITS EVEN MORE SO BECAUSE WHEN PHYSICAL WOUNDS HAVE LONG HEALED, EMOTIONAL HURTS CAN GO ON AND ON...FOR YEARS. WELL DONE, DEBRA AND THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
