You smiled at me,

much as you did when we

were eighteen.

Your warm hug held

many moments longer

than a simple “hello” embrace.

Throughout the day

our eyes met, often,

and the intimacies

of our shared years

passed between us.

Perhaps we were indulging

in the comfort of nostalgia,

Oh Leysa I can truly understand this, it is such bitter sweetness knowing the love is still there and wanting the magic to be still there along side of it. As we age and years grow shorter strange things happen in loving relationships and not all of them are good.

Well written my friend.
