About depression. Written by Diane Compagno AKA Marie Cloud
FROM THE DARK
In the dark and gloom, my mind did endure existence as if no relevance to life, no meaning apparent.
Guilt from the past loomed heavy upon my soul.
Daily tasks emerged into a feeling of overwhelming despair.
The volcano erupted in my brain exploding into oblivion as if a sign that it could go on no more.
The light before had been nonexistent
but now began to glimmer slightly.
It was as if there was magic in saying the words.
as decades of grief and shame poured from my lips.
Tears streamed from my eyes.
It was as if a cleansing of some kind took place.
The tunnel with a very small light at the end
does tease me relentlessly, coming closer with each day.
At times, it feels as though I will never get to it
but today is only a start and tomorrow is not yet clear.
Each day must be savored and cared for as a new baby for if hope is gone there is nothing.
