Oh! To have fields of green pastures and expansions of blue skies forever occupy my mind Those tranquil images would be representations of the peace and comfort I would, at last, find For my heart has reached out, through both the despondency and happiness that accompanied a childhood of strife Looking for a person who could grant me stableness and security in my life
Oh! To lose the images of grand mountains which overshadow all thoughts of self-worth Why am I forced to be subject to the mechinations of such an unsightly demon, denied the gifts of personal rebirth? Of those to whom I have given my trust blindly, more than half have abused it and treated me in kind Paranoid instincts are known to be borne from experiences such as these, so is it any mystery as to why I remain, in all knowledge of true love, blind?
Oh! To be rid of the great miles of thunder storms that are with me, no matter what my thoughts become I need not focus on that which is my anger at the world made tangible, I need only give focus to that which helps me overcome I've been but too powerless in drawing shut that door of failed attempts at success and helpless to simply leave it all to prayer With this weakness, it seems fitting to draw upon one of great inner strength, a trait which is unfortunately rare
When we first met, never did I think you would be the one to work through all these problems caused by others' grievances and mistakes Never did I think you would want to help me so much that you would compliment me at great length, with such success that my heart began to ache With every kind word, my first reaction is to judge for motivation; with every compliment I adamantly diagree But, little by little, the great mountains are deteriorating and I am able to look beyond into a field of green pastures, content with believing in your image of me
When we first met, never did I think you would bother to guide one who was so misguided in the ways of spiritual devotion Never did I think you would delve into what was underneath all the layers of diverse emotion With every iteration of forgiveness and compassion, I was called to change; with every suggestion I was pushed beyond comprehension But now the thunder storms are passing and I can see the insight that blue skies bring, as I think over past thoughts on relationships and know that to God, they'll get more than a passing mention
Oh! How wondrous it is to have fields of green pasture and expansion of blue skies forever occupy my mind These tranquil images are perfect representations of the peace and comfort I knew I would, eventually, find For my heart had reached out through both the despondency and happiness that accompanied a childhood of strife And found the person who could grant me much more than stableness and security in my life
