By Carmen Ruggero
The days grow short and
I know the sunset’s near.
I question and question
the worth of my existence.
I find the answers in broken pieces.
The flame of inspiration,
unwritten pages gathering dust.
Words flow through me,
but they're soon forgotten.
I am nothing but a cosmic grain
aging before its birth,
dying earlier than sunrise.
I’m an icon on planet earth;
no need to remember my name.
Click on my blurry picture
and find me at supper,
digesting desperation,
solitude, alienation,
waiting on the elements
to bring inspiration
and the things that matter…
if I only knew what they were.

If you knew who was walking alongside you every moment of every day, you would never fear or despair again.
It is beautiful to read your poetry again.
God bless and take care

you have articulated the results of successful struggle with issues of meaning and futility so well here. You turn your subject matter upside down and bring point and power to expressed questioning of pointlessness. Very well done. TY Kate xx

I think that's really all any of us really are, no matter how important some believe they are.
