This is what it is ==================
wandering along the road moving by design soft and silent walking searching for a sign— in the morning air whistling a bawdy air of a nuzzling pair--- mounted on a mare, homeward riding through the glowing dusk smiling

This conjures up such a comfy cozy picture of the old mare plodding along in the moonlight, perhaps carrying a young couple or maybe two old drunks either way love it.
