For remembrance --- too often we remember the dead i am not the narrator
“Loook at them.” These are they ones who for queen and country sailed away to do your will upon those you fear. These are they who paid not the Supreme Sacrifice, but gave only an arm, or two, or a leg or two or an eye or a mind. For those who paid the supreme sacrifice..... Wait! it is time to kill the Supreme Euphemism They made no sacrifice they were killed because you put then in harms way. For those who the war killed, who were shot, blown up. incinerated, bayoneted garroted, gassed the fight is over, there is closures like the closing of the silent grave. For these, the wounded, the war goes on and on and on the fight to recover, then to heal the battle to be looked upon as human beings and not as subjects of pity, or concern or fear continues. Wars come to an end when people grow sick of shedding blood. When the government can no longer afford to squander treasure on mayhem nor to offer our children to the gun, Wars come to an end but the wounded shall be with you forever. lost legs. arms shattered minds, shattered bodies shattered lives … hey! don’t turn away, does my chair offend you? Look at me!

You "wheeled" over Karla's toes (and mine) with this powerful, heartrending poem. WOW! EXCELLENT; this needs to be showed to every government official and those in charge! Maybe then will they "Take action", give the Veterans what they're due!

Sacrifice by those who serve on both our minds today: for those wounded, the war does indeed go "on and on." Shame the governments won't honor promises, made to take care of them; pay them a decent, liveable wage (while increasing THEIR coffers every year); or even say, "Thank you" unless convenient. Sad. I know: I'm one of the wounded. 23 years now, fighting the VA ... thank you for penning REALITY. This is a keeper, and no, Sir, the chair doesn't offend. This needs to be screamed from every rooftop: NO MORE!
