Cherub with the chubby cheeks,
Growing with each passing day.
Years that seem like weeks,
Time just passes away.

Slender with the graceful air,
Talent with a gentle flair.
So much like me and yet - no
For on your own path you must go.

Daddy’s face when you sleep,
Mommy’s eyes when you storm.
Your own talents you shall reap,
Your unique style and precise form.

God gave you to me for awhile,
Entrusting me with your enlightened smile.
Soon on your own you will be,
For life’s treasures you hold the key.

Go in peace; go in love,
Guidance will come from above.
