A storm waltzed in
With all of natures symphonic
Pieces
Dark clouds over took
The mid day sun
assaulting it
Within the unmerciful shrouds
Surrounding us
As it were evening
Huge drops of rain
Pelted the scene
As The heavens parted
Rain poured, lightning flashed
Thunder stirring, here and there
Wakening
All under it's spell.
Rain turnded, to rushing waters
Areas flooding
Drains clogging
Gods creatures all hiding
The fowl perched
The domestic secured
The varmits burrowed
The snake hissing
Crooked tongues
Tasting the danger, in the air.
It left, as fast as it arrived
Silence once more
As the sun breaks
Through rushing clouds
Rain stops, a rainbow appears
Lightning flashing, on the horizon
Winds blowing, the storm away
Thunder rumbling, From a distance
Rolling itself back to silence.
Then came a scene
New to me
At my piece of the pie
Five herring and several storks
entered the scene
Like bombers, landing on a field
Behind our blest dwelling
Like a conquering, Rear echelon unit
They ate their fill
Then strutted around the area
Yaking and yelling
As they heard
Rolling thunder at a distance
Threatening
Their existance there.
What a beautiful event
Nature displayed for me
As the sun, beagan to set
The large birds began
Yaking and yelling
As the orange
Of the sunset
Flickered dark.

Bill, other than a few words misspelled, an excellent image of a storm passing thru...I don't mind them as long as I don't have to work in them & stay wet for the rest of the day...Peace thru Nature, Ed & Rufuz

you must be looking out the same window i am...huge thunderheads are building off to the east, just had some (thank God) light rain here...last week, that was another story--FLOOD!! been very stormy here in north central texas all month--started june 1 with a tornado. one street south of my apartment, another complex lost its roof...that's TOOCLOSE!!
