MY DAD IS A FINE OLD COUNTRY GENTLEMEN, STANDING IN THE MIDDLE OF A DIRT ROAD WITH A WHITE SUIT ON...AND HE'S SINGING THAT OLD SPIRITUAL, 'BLESSED ASSURANCE'. Often with simplicity we portray the finest images. That stalwart, magnificent Oak speaks grandly for your Father! What a touching poem...a wonderful tribute...(bet he's so proud of you!)

This symbolistical depicting of the SKETCH, and the mystery of the closing strophe make "My Father's Portrait" a poetic accomplishment.

Who cares what others think or say, as long as you are happy with your sketch and just that fact that the sketch is of an oak tree, it shows your dads strength with it...e

This brings to mind of all the times I meant to bring a tape recorder to capture my father's voice and listen to it if I ever wanted, whenever... Seems I better do this soon!
