The Four Horsemen It has started Though I wise not to think About it I have no choice. As it all comes to light I sit within my garden After my morning prayers I breakfast, coffee and toast. On a warm clear beautiful First day of Spring Only this one Hiders the reality Of the silence surrounding My existence. In my yesterdays I sat here relaxing As I enjoyed My morning coffee Black and sweet unlike the milk and honey within the good book. with my every day Noises of Nature The Mockingbirds Sings to me naught. The Sand crane I hear not calling me For their occasional treats I've provided for years As I Valued our friendship. The wild hogs I hear not Disturbing the forest Or their familiar oinks.... "Pestilence" Has broken away From the ranks Of The Four Horsemen Changing Our Surroundings. Our way of life Our freedom of movement Our fading believes In The All Mighty Above. Travel he not upon a Pale Horse but on planes, trains, boats And anything upon the road To destruction Spreading death Along the way without mercy. I see a drop Of Morning Dew Sparkling resting on a blade Of grass Outside my garden door Shinning like a brilliant Diamond. Bringing hope that all Will return someday To the reality of normality Of Our Once upon a time. "It has started though I wish Not to think about it I have no Choice." Yes, one of the Four Horsemen, I believe it is Pestilence. Much more of a scorge in our past that in our present, in spite of the danger imposed by the possibility of death.

But history tells us that we have defeated most of the feared pestilences of the past to the point where they no longer harm us like they did when they ravaged Europe during the Middle Ages.

We will defeat this one and return to a wiser normal within a year or two. Many will die, but we all do, anyway.
