Reflections on my time in hospice with a dear one. This came to me when I could not sleep for attempting to cope with grief.
Come, Death, come --- Take her to your arms. See the mottled arms and legs Crying out to be dismissed. Limp they lie, resigned to fate Cradled up in fetal state. Now, the eyes, once clear, are gone Covered o'er in listless gaze. Come, Death, come --- Take not your time. Be quick. Loos'n the spirit that once was here Set free the soul enclosed within. Do justice by your mighty hand Set free the dove within. Come, Death, come. February 8, 2008

My heart goes out to you, Stephanie. Death of a loved one affects so much more deeply than can be imagined. This is a beautiful expression written from the soul, thanks for sharing it.

Have a friend poet on Author's Den Bonnie May who is in hospital with heart trouble at moment. She is praying and writing poems. Try to look her up she is from Colo. and she needs prayers greatly at tthis time. Her new poem is God gave me a Mountain. Love, Lois C.
