Cascading crescendo against weakened hull

Storm clouds dictating a sonnet so dull

Lifeless and drifting along natures trail

Swirling dark fathoms a feeling so frail

Man mastered the oceans and conquered the skies!

Yet nature’s the master, in brutal disguise

Eyes shut tight, no thought at all

Clinging to hope no matter how small

Even the birds, those masters of flight

Powerless to stop nature’s cruel plight

After the storm cometh the calm

Unknown position, but safe from harm

Peering out to observe all that’s been

Elements wrath I have now seen
