One Last Tear

I lie here.
In my bed made of sorrow
In the dark….
alone.
Struggling…
Trying..
Not to think.
Because thinking..
doesn’t work.
I lie here
until I feel a single tear…
slide ever so slowly down my cheek.
I hear it softly hit the pillow.
Feel the tear trickle down my arm..
I hear it's soft echo of death
as it hits the floor below.
A sad sound.
Because that one tear..
was once filled with a thousand
hopes and dreams.
Hopes and dreams
of the innocent.
Hopes and dreams of
what could have been.
I fall asleep to the sound
of that lonely soft tear.
Echoing in my mind.
I awake the next morning to find..
A small but painful stain..
Nothing now but an insignificant reminder
Of a lonely dried up dream.
of what will never be.

Encapsulates teenage "angst" to perfection, Erica. Every emotion is taken to the max...the moment is all there is. Its painful to remember!

Erica,

Melancholic, and I know how this is. Trust me when I say that. My dreams and hopes for the future were always shot down...wonder where I'd be now if I hadn't listened or believed their lies??

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :( *tears*

Wow, this is beautiful Erica.
I'm in a blue place right now.
I've been wanting to get a hug, this makes me want to give one.
:)

This is sad and when someone shatters your dreams it is hard to deal with.

The Libra Solution: Shedding Excess and Redefining Success by Lisa DAnnolfo Levey

The familiar lament of dual-career parents raising children is, "I just can't do it all." The Libra Solution provides an alternative - a more satisfying and sustainable work and life approach - to the overwrought modern day norm.
