The absence of you
Pulses fervently
like blood beneath wounds
shallow and needing
of closed air and thought
.
Your silence bruises
my lips, brutally
as fate or hunger
I don't know the way
to euphoria
.
I miss you, my dear,
terribly as fear
wanting of your hope
instilled so surely
as a rope hanging
me from precipice,
dire and careless
