I lay here writing, thinking of nothing but you,

How could I have let it get this far?
Why did I not stop myself before now?
I do not believe in many things any more, most especially love.
Hopeless romantic is a phrase that is so true ,
for it is hopeless to believe that love is possible.
Pain is a fact of life, as is death.
Many have come and gone from this world
never knowing love or anything close.
I once knew love. I once knew trust.
But just as I shall die, those virtues have died.
Impossibilities remain impossible. Nothing is forever.
So now I say goodbye as I turn out the light.
I have loved and lost. I have lived and died.
I never ceased loving you.
