We are country through and through

This statement is certainly true .

We’re not ashamed of our roots

We have no problem with wearing boots.

We served our country with genuine pride

We’re proud of what we are inside.

Traditional values still have great worth

Though now discarded through much of the earth

Church – morality – honor – respect

Are a few of the things we mustn’t neglect.

Loyalty – faithfulness – bravery too

Should be added to these few.

Old fashioned is how we’re often perceived

By many who are simply self-deceived.

We routinely value simple things

Like family gatherings where everyone sings.

So call us simple if you will,

From high society we get no thrill.

We’ll, in our world, keep plugging along

With a smile and in our heart a song.
