The wind just blew and blew

The winds blew strong with such great force. No one expected it this way.
The branches bent down to the ground. The apple tree blew away.
A woman standing with child inside. From the window she did watch.
The little children with fright in their eyes. Away from the windows they rushed.
Creaking of the wooden walls, nails pulling from the boards.
The child holds tight to a little doll, praying to the Lord.
No time to waste, No time to be scared. For their home they had to leave.
Quick as the snap of a branch cracking, the roof cracked blowing away.
Dear Lord the winds will kill them all if they dare to go outside.
Adrenaline running through the mother’s veins. This storm they had to ride.
Winds pinning them to the fence, grabbing tightly to their hands.
Never would they forget this terrible time while living on this land.
Gusts of winds would tear at them while walking down the road.
They risked the walk, frightened to stay. the outcome was unknown.
Pregnant mother, with little ones holding tightly to one another.
blowing blowing never knowing. She was a frightened mother.
Finally they made it to the home of a loved one they all knew.
Riding out the storm there while the wind just blew and blew.
