I wrote this a long time ago and it reminds me of where my journey has led me. Depression is anger turned inward. Been there done that!

Angry

Sometimes I want to

            Scream

            Yell

            Shake my fist

            Curse and swear

And be as angry on the outside

As I am inside

But I can’t

My past won’t let me.

and I always thought it better
to be pissed off
than pissed on...

sorry I know that is rather vulgar isn't it?
but it does have a stain of truth to it...

Our journeys usually define us very well.

I've got to say, wow on this one Dayvid. I hadn't even read it before writing R U Happy, it seems we're somewhat on the same page, and neither one of us wants to let our inner anger land us in a cage. Which wouldn't be sage. take care

Dayvid, the shortness of this, in my opinion, is what makes it so powerful.

Always better to let the anger out so one has plenty of time to heal...

Know the drill. A poor workman blames his tools. Never have had a serious problem expressing anger with people (suppressed). But if you are a wrench or a badly designed product, look out! Patrick

I think most of us have been there at one time or another. Sounds like you're on the right track now tho. God bless.

As you wrote rather smartly "been there done that" I can relate. It sounds like you have come a long way, Dayvid.

I am not an angry person, all though anyone would understand if I was.
Your poem really hit a place in me.
I guess you brought out the fact that maybe I am a bit angry after all inside.

Awesome poem!! I know this feeling so well. They also say anger is a reaction to fear, which I also understand. Usually self-centered fear in my case. Fear of losing what I have or not getting what I want. For me, the way out is to try and improve the lives of others, whereby I'm less concerned with myself and my little plans. I'm not always successful. Depression is a bitch. Been plagued by it my whole life. Take care.
