Like most writers, I write when great emotions are involved, this was written a few years ago, when my husband of over 20 years left me for a woman that he had, as far as I knew, never met face to face. It is written with all of the pain and bite that I felt at the time...please forgive...
Gypsy queen, gypsy queen You dreamt of her each night With family near, to them you were dear But they were not in your sight
You had a dream of a life carefree To her you turned your heart You never saw the pain you caused You were selfish from the start
You made a plan to escape A life you deemed so sad Your loved ones tears you never saw You gave up all you had
You left your life far behind She captured you as she'd planned Bow to the queen, site unseen You poor pathetic man
I have come to realize that by them "finding" each other, I have been given a great gift...I have found myself

I must say that I am pleasantly surprised by the reviews that I have received for this write. I was a little hesitant in posting it, I was fearful of being labled the "bitter scorned woman" a title I hate. I appreciate all of your kind words and support. It means so much to me!
Darlin', sounds like this man never gave you the love and respect you deserve. He wasn't into you or the family enough. What a SCHMUCK! You will find a true great love when you're ready, and until then, it sounds like you lightened the load when that man left. Shame on him, what a pathetic boy. You free yourself, and know it was HIM and not you, and though it was the most personal betrayal, it had nothing to do with you and everything to do with his own foolishness. Time makes all waters run clear.

Having lived through a similar experiance I found your poem touched many chords in my own life, all I can add is "that which does not kill us makes us stronger" seems to me you know this to be true
You are right, this one does have a bite to it, but rightfully so. What happened was wrong. Now you begin a new life and I pray better than before.....
