Soldiers marching off to war
a battle of the heart.
A great show of manly power
tears this life apart.
One by one, each takes up arms
to move upon the field.
They use each weapon expertly
to cause a girl to yield.
Military might has come
to settle up the score
all thats left is smoke and dust
a jaded girl at war.
Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
