Dreamscape
~
Many a time I'll dream of such a place,
where the mountain river meets the brook, in whose shallows silver minnows court the sun. And I will bow, with the willow, and drink from
cool waters and sunlit dreams.
.
The waterfalls will be like hummingbirds
graceful, almost delirious, piercing the nectar, and moving on.
.
I, too, have moved on, distant
from sunlit dreams and cool waters.
.
Yet, my eyes will search for vistas, where shadows speak in the brilliance of yesterday.
.
Shall I, then, seek your face, for what image could recover your manner and your way ?.
For what is like you, who are colored as all things?
.
Shall I, then, seek your voice, whose every sound may be translated into the
poetry of angels?
.
I cannot find you when dawn burns
away the amethyst mist of dreams.
.
Yet many a time I'll search again for
cool waters in whose shallows
silver minnows court the sun.

I've always felt you're at your best when you write free verse. This poem is no exception. Please, continue on this path. You write, how painters should paint.
