For a moment he opened the eyes of her heart and in a single beat the world came to life. The darkness and doubt that surrounded her, suddenly was replaced with certainty and light. His luminance was such that she never had seen, drawn to this beacon like a ship lost at sea. The shallows were safe to linger and just be, but the depths promised relief from the scorching heat.

With trembling hands and a yearning heart, she breathed deeply and focused, before taking the plunge. Not knowing where the tide would take her, but ready for the journey all the same; she closed her eyes on that fateful day and softly called out his name.

The undertow was fierce, more so than expected; as the waves crashed over, she felt as if she were drowning. Many times she fought her way weakly to shore, her body exhausted, her mind unsure; but each time she felt the sand in her toes, believing she had her footing, he shined his light, reached for her hand and eased her back in his waters for more-
