The latest WWF ‘Living Planet Report’
States what I have known for a long time
The planet that we all call home, is in peril
Surely humanity’s worst modern day crime

Crop-sustaining bee colonies are collapsing
Our wildlife is being shot down and poisoned
We continue to use extremely toxic pesticides
And far too much of Nature, is coming to an end

Earth’s wildlife has now declined by more than half
While in the last 40 years, we humans have doubled
We are devastating Nature, at an unprecedented rate
And now every living species on this planet is in trouble

We humans are consuming our planet’s natural resources
At a rate that would now require 1.5 planets to even sustain
We’re cutting down Earth’s trees, faster than they can mature
And harvesting more fish than our planet’s oceans can maintain

With our human population expected to reach nearly 10 Billion by 2050
The amount of ‘Bio-Capacity’ for each of us, will soon shrink even further
Every living being needs fresh food, fresh water, and clean air to breathe
And unless we address this issue soon, we are all guilty of ‘Planet Murder’

This 2014 Living Planet Report is extremely sad, and by everyone, should be read;
What we are now sadly leaving to our children, is a planet that could soon be dead.
