-->“Like the wallpaper sticks to the wall,
Like the seashore clings to the sea,
Like you'll never get rid of your shadow,
Human, you will never get rid of me (us)”

Lyrics and Music To ‘Me and My Shadow’

Yesterday was Shadow’s Fourth Anniversary
Of him being rescued from the mean city streets
So I had planned a celebratory campout with him
We would be camping out together, just him and me

But anytime that I attempt to do, anything at all
With just one of my dogs, the others get offended
So last night, out in the old kennel, in our backyard
I had the company of three shadows in my camp bed

Little Jack, the self- proclaimed leader of my Beasty Boys
And, of course, good old Tater, a survivor of New Orleans
Were extremely insulted, that I was now leaving them out
So, all three of my shadows, insisted on camping with me

I tried to explain this to Shadow, this campout’s honoree
At first, he didn’t want to share his campout, with them
But after lots of explaining, and of course, lots of treats
My Shadow was finally content to share me, in the end

Even a trip to the vet’s office around here causes trouble
Before I know it, all of my dogs have hopped into the car
They really don't care, that only one has an appointment
They insist on riding around with me, whether near or far

And now, tonight, it looks like I will be camping out once again
The other Beasty Boys I left out are now pouting without end

“Like the wallpaper sticks to the wall,
Like the seashore clings to the sea,
Like you'll never get rid of your shadow,
Human, you will never get rid of me (us)”

Peewee... As per usual, your wit, wisdom, and tale-tellng are only

Surpassed by your canine humor. Committment, Loyalty, and Love
Abound throughout your musings.

Thank you for sharing with the World - It is better for it! ✌🏻️❤️

May have bonded so much with you that they are all your "shadows."

I don't think my Jazz would want to go along to the vet. Whenever we took him, he knew he was going there and would shake like a frightened child expecting the pain to come.

Did you and the boys share any "coffee beer" during your stay in the doghouse...? Enjoyed this as I used to use Ruffies antics for ideas for poems too...-e-
