All the things I want to press on my grown children.

Poem Artwork

They spring to my lips

and hover like jarred fireflies

 waiting to be released--

all the gifts I wish on you.

For instance:

You should relax more, enjoy life,

see beauty when you scan the mirror,

thank God daily for your tender husband.

Stop fussing.

Play the celebration music.

Laugh more, worry less.

Count on God--He holds you

even when you don't feel the

stern pressure of his presence.

Sometimes, He's more subtle

like the scent on the breeze of newly sprouting leaves.

But I will refrain from exhortations.

I see you need to talk,

so I must listen and wait for you to hear

the tune yourself.  I know you will.

Speechless, breathless, forgive my momentary lapse into wordlessness. No, I revive myself, here's a few descriptive words: splendid, splendiferous, splendacious. There, I may have coined a few new words. Thanks for your "exhortations" (This is the first time I've answered to a blog, being ignorant of what a blog is as I write this). mdc

Fantastic write. This one is a keeper. I hope my children and grandchildren heeds things that spring to my lips. Oh my, I'm called, "my ol' lady" instead of Mom. And now my 18 year old granddaughter is driving me around, seems like yesterday she
was in her car seat.

I love reading your work,
Pier
