All of God’s Creatures Great and Small

He just tried to live, I say when I spy a small creature lying dead in the road.

I say a little prayer even though there are many who say that they have no soul.

I have now five strays that I have taken in and they love without condition…

which is something I seldom see from people that call themselves men.

I see no empathy as a man beats his wife.

I see no love except for self in the creation of strife.

Yet if we could but all love the way this little cat loved his friend.

Then, oh then what better a world would we live in.

I guess that much of this I see is through rose colored glasses born of empathy.

For life is too short, life is too quick to put self-first, life is just one breath away from eternity.

I guess I will never understand why love fails sometimes to triumph the evil of the day.

All that I can do, I do…God bless his little soul…may He protects us all from ourselves in every way.
