To Catch a Star
Many years ago I reached into the heavens and caught a falling star. I held this star close to my heart and smiled. For this star was beautiful in every way. It's warmth brought peace to a weary heart. But as the years quickly passed my star began to slowly fade and nine years ago this month God took my beautiful star away.
Darkness and a cold bitterness soon began to replace the warmth of my stars glowing light.
I questioned God and begged Him to tell me why. His reply was swift as He told me that all stars eventually will die.
Time crawled on, and each day in reality to my heart and soul was of a endless night . Then one day I saw another falling star pass my way. I stretched my hand into the black night above and by His grace I captured another falling star in which to hold and love.
I even gave my new and beautiful star a name and I called her Jan.
She still shines bright each and every day. My new little star had replaced the former darkness with joy and laughter. It warmed my heart and drove my loneliness and fears far far away.
I hold her tight to my chest. I no longer question God for I now know that it is He and not I who knows best.
