It痴 8:am on a Sunday morning and I have just finished my 12 hour shift. I now sit in my car sipping coffee and staring at a blank white wall.
What is written below was intended to be a poem of love and longing, but somewhere along the way I became lost, and my words of poetry became a complete confession of a soul attesting to my desire to be with my true love.

Without You...
With out you my love I would become like the wind that moans through the valley of lost souls.
Without your light I would become the darkness, I would be no more.
For you see, I need you and without you I will fail to even exist.
It is your love which feeds my soul. Your love that keeps me whole.
Oh where would I go? How would I survive without you? Your laughter and smiles touch me in a way that cannot be written in words, for there are none.
I have dreamt so many times about finally getting to retire and be with you. I work and I try and try, but now I致e grown old and tired and yet work still keeps me from you my love.
I so often think, if I had only been smarter. If I had only listened to my fathers advice and heeded his words. If so, we would in a few short months have our time in the sun together forever.
Even if my dreams of which I speak never come to be, I will still survive to love you yet another day.
Therefore, never part from my side, and never oh never take the night wind and from me eternally fly.
Oh Jan my darling, can稚 you see by this awkward plea, can稚 you see just how much I love you?
It痴 fast approaching 14 hours since our lips last met. I致e made a lot of mistakes in my life, but it was no mistake in loving you and it is something I will never regret.
I love you my darling....

I dread the day my retirement money runs out. Social Security doesn't pay the bills.
Political will can change that. If it doesn't, future generations will have an even worse.
