The Road to Hell

The days of our days have become the bitter fruit of the tree of hate.
Discord abounds all around as one by one we march towards Hell’s Gate.
Fire rains down from the unrelenting sky and no one cares if we live or die.

Our streets are violently filled with mobs, which spew forth venom so vile.
The churches stand like silent ghost.
A testament to our time as Satan sits and smiles.
Thus, down this road we all march one by one.
The fires of eternity signal the second death.
Forewarned were we of this coming day, yet still we continued to stray; sleep now as you take your final breath.

Such a sad and angry poem. I can see where many would feel that it's the entire world that is caught up in the darkness of chaos, but I don't think that is necessarily so. While I am aware of the evil around me, I also see beauty and hope. It's there. It's just not always as noisy.

So sad when there's fire everywhere! And the protesting mobs are totally destroying the district that they themselves are living in. I don't understand the logic of this. Suffer are innocent people! Very sad!

Perhaps, but I don't think "down this road we all march one by one." Hopefully, as many scriptures tell us, each person walks their own road.

A totally pessimistic view. I live in a sanctuary city filled with good overwhelming the bad. Yesterday it was revealed that police were very kind to a man who was acting very erratically, begging for death. So they complied and shot him 23 times. Any good hunter knows that a single shot is all that is necessary to kill for food. What causes us not to save the bullets? Buy bigger magazines for more bullets.

What causes us to blame peaceful protesters under our Constitution when a few miscreants wish to use the peaceful demonstration as a way of acting out in childish behavior. The news media focuses on the bad, with a rightful purpose. It is up to us to discern how serious the problem is. Particularly in our neighborhood. Not far off where it doesn't affect us. Like the coronavirus does and requires our cooperation to defeat.

Wildfires in California, Alaska, the Amazon, Australia and other parts of the world are largely caused by drought that is currently being created by global warming. Now is not a time to yell, "Armageddon" or "the sky is falling," but to begin to focus our efforts making sure that everyone who is displaced by disaster or financially ruined is cared for until they can get back on their feet again. We have faced pandemics before and we know how to deal with them. We just have to follow expert advice and wait for a vaccine that is coming.

You may be suffering from all kinds of ailments, but the world is not coming to an end, yet. We have the resources and the will to correct our problems like we always have. Be thankful you're not living in a time of civil war, 1860-65. You might be worried about your brother shooting you back then.
