Walls and Dreams

I sit in silence, alone encapsulated by four walls which speak to me of things to come. They tell of the fall of civilizaon as we know it and how soon our days are done. Anger outside these walls are like an ever consuming flame which bring sadness and shame.

Hate for others boil like a stew of bones in the dark of the witches black cauldron. Yet, many are blind and fail to hear the distant, but ever nearing cries of the dying of man. They do not see the trials and tribulaons to come; they realize not that our me is done.

However I am safe, and secure. I am protected. For within these walls I see the forest and streams. I have mountains of beauty which touch the clouds. I fly amongst birds which carry my dreams. I suffer not within these walls for they contain all the remnants of a mind which no longer remains.

O' prophet of GOD, I, too, have eyes to see and ears to hear.
Jesus said, Let not - allow not - your hearts to be troubled - for these things MUST NEEDS come to pass. Keep the faith, my Brother
..in turn, it will keep you till He calls us upward.

THE LORD BE MAGNIFIED NOW AND FOREVER, AMEN.

So many times I've had to go within to be able to cope with what is without. The world can be an angry, ugly place. But there are still pockets of beauty to be found.

It certainly does seem that way. However in this century, we have more and more ways to detect anger and expose it for what it is. Fear has always been in the minds of men. It has driven us to unnecessary wars and made hermits of those who felt they could no longer tolerate even dealing with their fellow man in their own neighborhood.

I see the good. I see the outpouring for the people of Louisiana who are stuck without electricity and what it brings to them for some time yet. But 20,000 utility trucks are either there or on their way to begin the repairs. That's what we do as humans. We don't throw up our hands and give in to our fears. We pull ourselves up by our bootstraps and fix things.

The 21st century will be spent fixing much of what we wasted in the 20th.

I would only add two words to your insightful poem: "maybe not."
