Ode to Ed
I’ve watched many come and go.
Caught up in the wind of times constant ebb and flow.
Many were the smiles built upon our hearts silent fears as we now view another day labored in joy and tears.
Sail on dear sir; sail forth now from the pain of the years.
Sail on upon the deep blue water of heavens beautiful sea.
Where in fear, pain and loneliness, you'll never again be.
He was filled with so many demons that left him very ill and poverty-stricken in the end of his life. I was surprised when he declared himself, old, at sixty years of age. As your poem suggests, he is free from those demons now.
I know that Jan is helping you, but we are looking forward to more of your return.
Ron
He was a valiant warrior over the years, in his several battles.
And he was a card! Which is how I shall remember him!
His Memory will be safe and well-preserved here, among the Poets.
Sigh...I'm very sorry you lost another friend, my dear Bubba.
From the time I read Jan's post, we have been fervently praying for the Spirit to stir you to post again..
I was all excited when I saw you had...then deeply saddened when I read it. But praise Jesus, now dear ED is finally out of pain and suffering and the toil and terrors of this world.
Now, as those who remain, let us continue the good fight. May The LORD be gracious unto you & Jan, and give you His peace.
We love you both dearly... and Rev. Inis, of course!
