If our tongues are dirty and defiled from taking the dear Lord's name in vain,
We cannot be effectively used, the Lord's precious love to proclaim.
If our feet have wandered far from God,
We cannot feel the urge to follow the path our Saviour has trod.
If our hands are defiled from dabbling in sin and always busy "doing our own thing"
We are not available when some may need a Christian friend.
If my will has been twisted and bent until
I think only of "I, myself and mine",
There'll be a constant battle until the victory is won
And I'll say "Not my will, Lord, but thine be done."
The question is asked, why doesn't God in His power supreme,
Stop the high-jackers and others so mean?
Could the answer be that those who are called by His name
Are slow to qualify for blessings they cannot contain?
A surrendered life and a faithful witness is the chosen vessel that
Our Lord uses to extend His Kingdom,
And lays up treasures in Heaven that Jesus uses to complete the
Prepared Place He promised His own.
It brings peace and happiness now with promise of awards with a crown.
"Be thou faithful unto death and I will give you a crown of life."
