God led me to a friend

A few years ago it seems

 To a love that will not end

For restoring my life of dreams

I had lived a sad life of grief

For the loss of a love so dear

I needed some kind of relief

Then God made it very clear

He showed me how to find

A great source of pure reprieve

From a gifted one so kind

All my sorrows to relieve

I then soon began to lean

On shoulders the Lord had sent

Her sweet name is just Marlene

My sorrows all now relent

If ever you need some love

Or guidance to brighten your life

She’s sent from God up above

As the one to end all your strife

When you seem to have a great need

To give your life more aplomb
