A poem from my upcoming book, "Passing Thoughts" written and dedicated to my great friend Francis "Frankie" Gordon - taken from her friends and family too soon a few years ago.
In my car I thought of you today your song was on the radio,
I smiled and reminisced of days gone by,
and then I wondered why did you leave me why?
I looked up in my rear view mirror then
hoping to see you in my back seat again.
I sang along, though out of tune,
knowing I would see you soon.
I felt your hand upon my hair
I felt your presence everywhere
You spoke to me through your favorite song
I knew then that it would not be long.
We will see each other again my friend
for even in death there is no end
You speak to me in subtle ways
Don't worry dear I won't forget those days.
More years may pass, more days may fly,
but yet there is never a long goodbye.
We will be young again to dance and sing this song,
for this life is just a moment long.
A moment lived, a moment past
knowing it will not be our last
The song comes to an end, you leave me with a smile
Thanks for helping me pass the miles.
I notice the sky is a perfect blue,
Yes my dear, I'm missing you...
Missing my hubby Tom very much this holiday season still. My 2nd christmas without him. Trying my best to have a good holiday and better one than last year. Life goes on and so we try harder each year but never forget our loved ones from the past.
My Grandmother died at 7:45. I will miss her.
Fantastic work
