I watched her walk by everyday,
her motion smooth as silk.
I'd wandered on without looking back,
though I'd always want to ask.
Her beauty brightened every room,
her voice like an angel's song.
Though fear held me at the door,
it was still nice to peek.
I'd never spoken a word her way,
imperfect as I felt.
She'd never turned an eye towards me
without a pointing hand.
So I continued to dream
and watch her pass,
as the days flew right by.
Until the time she walked up,
and sat down at my side.
"PERFECTION"
She said she had acheived.
"I have no vices, no addictions, no needs."
I listened to her tell
of other people's demise.
Their lack of faith was evident,
to her this was unwise.
"Why pick it up
When you can't put it down?"
She asked with a hand in her purse.
It dawned on me
as I heard her speak,
and watched her check herself.
The nectar we feed on
isn't always
found outside ourselves,
it comes in forms that others see
as simple gestures of life.
As always I am a bit late but I liked this poem of yours also. Nice images, well done
