A woman of incredible abilities still needs her man

Poem Artwork

I/

dwell on high/

far beyond azure skies/

direct the paths/

of the comet's flight/

delight/

celestial stars of night/

so that they smile/

bright/

silvery light/

I/

encompass the circumference of Earth/

explore its buried molten hearth/

have birthed/

the Universe/

& interspersed/

exclamations/

verse by verse/

effortlessly/

in time/

I/

ride tsunami waves/

excavate ancient caves/

defend enclaves/

unafraid/

exhaled the wind that swayed/

amber waves of grain/

sustain/

enamored accolades/

received like shade/

that protects from/

Summer's haze/

at midday/

Uzuri/

beautiful my identity/

I/

greet each day/

more splendidly/

than a prism of light's epiphany/

serendipity/

discoveries/

manifesting translucently/

the reality/

of life for me/

that/

with all I am/

and/

all that I hope to be/

I need you to breathe/

Still/

I need you/

to breathe

You express so much via your verses here, Shirley; such powerful, evocative words that awaken meaning and emotion. To me, your words are witness that you can easily "stand on your own." Still, it is wonderful to have someone "good and true" by one's side. Thank you for sharing. Love and best wishes,

Regis

For me this was a ride on an airstream of energy. I enjoyed your rhythm and rhyme; and your choice of words was whirling. ~~ Diana

Wonderful sentiments here and in the end an affirmation that everyone needs someone. Your writing is becoming more and more grounded without losing it ability to soar. Like that.

...but to add to Budd's comment, if we find then lose our soulmate...what is the sense in breathing.

Shirley,
Jerry has already quoted it correctly. We do need our soulmate above all else we do and will continue to seek them until melded together.
