Away from home and lonely.

A hollow feeling in the base of my stomach
That starts as a barely noticeable ache
While you are still near

It grows to a large mass that contorts my back
That fills my upper body with pain
While you drive away

It enlarges to numbness filling my mind
That takes my concentration away
While I fly away

A blankness encompasses my being
That moves with me in the day
While work far from home

This heavy feeling is my life
That takes me through
While we are apart

Quickly disappears at a simple sight
Of a beautiful face in a car
When you are there
