are absent...
delights of the tongue and head
are absent...
deep longing pangs
of a sweet kiss, a hungry caress
are absent...
This illusory world hangs
like beads of sweat off
off your brow
Repentant tears welling up
Do your prayers
God will surely help
as you track through
lost sand dunes
scattered skulls, bones and vertebrae
The Benevolent One
like a kind parent is surely listening
perpetually caring...
Gongs, bells and
cherry blossoms cascade
Bow to the Great venerable blue sky
drenching you with rain for food
Bow to the One who owns
all the universes
Bow to the Eternal Om
The world is a mixed bag of joy and sorrow, mostly suffering.
The key which the monk has grasped is that The world with all its enticements, beauty, danger etc is impermanent, is ephemeral, is evanescent like a pipe dream. And The only absolute realness is the immense Cosmic Self which encompasses all of us. Realizing we are that is our ultimate journey.
Sending you
a chalice of peace
and sweet dreams
But there are those who are willing to go through what it takes to become one with their God of choice. Suffering in the hope of being better in the next life.
