Ecstatic Poetry |
|
Gently I clear the dew
sparkling on the bench
in my front yard
and sit quietly sipping tea
from a cup painted with
roses and peonies
An elegant monarch butterfly
greets me tipping
his black silk hat
before dashing through
the hibiscus flower bed
their taffy pink blooms aflutter
I hear my hubby, David
calling me, waving from his bike
as he coasts jubilantly
down the driveway
Honestly, it feels like Spring
although we are on
the verge of Winter
"Thank you" I whisper
to the Universal Mother
my heart soaring freely
over the lofty Heavens
in endless bloom
