Doesn’t matter how many doors
Doors closed on my face
Knock i will continue
With a rueful smile on my face
Still i know one door will open up
Open up for me because it’s meant for me
In a world with a vast majority still
so narrow minded
Be-littling others on the basis of race and background
Doesn’t matter dear, because still i will rise
A childhood motto still inclined in my heart
'To never be offended neither give up'
Running my race with great determination
Knowing the Creator bears no partiality
I run to the highest mountain with pride
Pride in my creator because I'm His striking resemblance
When you see me at the mountain top,
don’t be ashamed to ‘hola’
I bear no grudges because to me
they are a bunch of time wasters
Still i will rise.

...and you've expressed it all so very well in your
poem. Thank you for sharing your verse.
Maya Angelou would be so proud to read your poetry. As am I.

Knowing the Creator bears no partiality."
Indeed the great Creator hath power
to do all things; He can build one up
and He can bring one down.
Having faith in Him is a great thing.
A lovely poem, Mary, keep the faith,
Blessings!
Beautiful poetry every time, Mary!!
Sandie :o)
God paved your road to success long ago; all I can say is, "Go Mary, go".
