Poem Artwork

The hustle bustle of everyday

Caught in heavy traffic jam

Cursing silently behind the wheel

The clock ticking- tick tock non-stop

Running late again!

Cursing louder at the rogue trying to chance his way ahead of you in traffic

Suddenly, traffic starts clearing

Busy day at work

What a long shift?

The day drags on what seems like a snail’s pace

Nodding nonchalantly at the unvaried discussions in the afternoon meetings,

you lose yourself in thought

Building castles in the air

Basking in the sandy beaches of sunny Mombasa,

sipping a Mimosa

It’s payday tomorrow - you can afford a smile after all.

PAY DAY--- WHETHER WE'RE THINKING ABOUT THE ONE TOMORROW OR THE ETERNAL ONE...IT CERTAINLY CHASES AWAY THE BLUES AND GIVES US SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO. A GREAT DOWN-TO-EARTH, HONEST WORK, ENJOYED, THANKS. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

You described it perfectly. Why work has become so boring. And the commute, even worse. Makes me glad I'm out of that rat race forever.

They pay us just enough on Friday, to make sure we come back on Monday. Keep building those castles in the air.

Say Something Terrorible v3 by RickthePoetWarrior

My mom says ‘If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything’. Sorry mom but under the guise of poetic license I penned these beauties.
