Poem Artwork

Daddy whistling the Christmas carols

Mum giving instructions and advice in her motherly tuned voice

The mighty roaring diesel run engines of old cars

Goats bleating and running helter skelter on some rough terrains

A voice echoing and piercing the hill tops - a mother calling for her child.

The dogs barking and howling systematically as if in well organised orchestra

Trees bending and bowing to the howling and puffing wind

The sound of rain on the corrugated iron sheets

How can I forget?

Mum praying every morning and evening

I recall all these. Yes I recall

Sounds from the distant past.

There are some sounds that we remember from childhood that say dear to us throughout our lives. I'm hearing them now.

It's always nice to remember things. What amazes me is how a sound, smell, taste, a song, ect. can instantly take us back to another time in our lives.
