Have you ever fallen in love with someone you shouldn't? Fallen head over heels and yet you concealed it all? Tried to get them out of your mind but experienced war in all it's wicked glory? Felt alien butterflies all over for them? Your heart pounded like the African tom-tom drums in their presence? Have you ever been kissed in a way never imagined before? A memory that will last more than forever? Have you ever wondered about love? Is it made in the heavens or in this milky way galaxy? Fallen in love with another helplessly in love with you? But these policies, these laws - a major hindrance? Have you ever cried rivers for such a love as this? Have you ever met your soul-mate? I hear you say an almighty 'YES!' I go down on my knees and ask you kindly. Ask you to teach us about this thing called love. In this journey, we are mostly inexperienced.

Frankly my dear, I haven't. All of my successful loves have been calm and beautiful without all the melodrama your poem suggests. Oh I have been infatuated, but those were never loves, only wishful thinking.

I think women are more likely to succumb to unnatural relationships, imagining their prince charming from the way they talk or kiss. Unfortunately, so many women get caught up in terrible relationships as a result that they can escape from.

Should, or shouldn't is only in the eyes of others; not yours. When you really fall in love you'll know he's the one, and nothing else matters.

Well I believe Andy has this right! It is I Cor 13 is very precise. That series of verses were read on my wedding day. Now to answer your question, yes of course love changed the course of History. Samson and Delilah are great examples of what people will do for love. However, today things are really no different. Men WILL truly sacrifice their lives for their loved ones. I know I would even though I don't want to. But if I am cornered and forced to make a choice, I would fight to the death for my wife and my daughters. Yes, love is for real and it's forever. Amen

Awww, there is no blueprint for this thing called love, Mary. I am of the opinion that love causes more pain and suffering than any other thing in this world. On the other hand it can be the most wonderful thing ever experienced, although most of that is lust. Not one thing wrong with lust, but it fades after a while, and that is where love, true love comes in. It isn't easy. By then you both know things about one another that was hidden in the beginning, but living with someone for an extended period both of you will see and hear these things which irk you which you will have to overcome. Hopefully you can talk things out without arguing if possible. Love. A gamble every time.
