The Model

The artist    like the woman    is aware of the darkness behind her.

He has painted the picture window ominous.

She poses, sensing his purpose,

but unable to turn to the void.

 

Though the blackened window reflects a pathway of lights, the woman waits, unable to shed her wrap.

Very subtle fear here as well as contrasting images of light and dark, readers must form their own ideas as to what has caused the model such fear and angst. Well done

Quite a psychologically and spiritually engaging work. Sheds light and shadow on the sometimes complex relationship between artists and models.

Interesting piece...a view of the woman as a model with the artist purpose well entwined between the two and their purpose of display...very nicely expressed...
