The Cherokees asserted their rights: "We have legal title to land". So Andy Jackson plotted to break the law; The Army would give him a hand.
Andy Jackson told them to go But the Supreme Court told him "NO"! Andy Jackson said "I don't care what you think! I will bully them like a foe". Like a plague Andy came at them And the Bill of Rights was trampled. Ten thousand Americans were killed walking; Their liberty dastardly culled. If liberty's still crying there, Look at a twenty dollar bill. You'll find the author of this heinous story Without conscience gloating over his kill.

old andy was a product of his times, and the trail of tears a devasting event to red and brown peoples of that time. the numbers vary, but the true magnitude of the crime stands. an indignant evocation, poet.

yeah,
i have so much to say on things of this nature

This is a dynamic and compelling way to tell the truth of a tragic time in history. A very graceful rhythm and well worked rhyme. :)

Well I never realized until now that it was Andrew Jackson that started this trail of tears and some of my forefathers walked it.
