Working on a cattle ranch in the heat of summer, a cowboy and his horse feel the welcome touch of a breeze
As I mount up, my trusty old steed
I head for the cattle, that I must feed
The air is hot, no breeze in sight
I gotta get er' done, before the dark of night
It's a long ride, to where the herd is now
Sometimes I'll find, a lone calf or cow
My horse walks slowly, head toward the ground
He journeys onward, with hardley a sound
All of a sudden, the horse perks his ears
His nose to the sky, as a small breeze appears
I feel it too, as it whistles on by
It felt so good that it made me cry
The gentle, cool breeze, quickly fades away
I wish I could have felt it, for the rest of the day
But it was enough, to get me through The cowboys chores that I must do.
Very nice poem, It gave very graphic details of each episode that
you were describing in the poem, I could picture everything your poem
was saying as if I was there. I know the cowyboy enjoyed that breeze{smile}. Keep writing these good poems.
