It cheers me to think that this happens every night in Heaven like it did in my house

He hears you meow in the middle of the night
He gets up and turns on the light
He looks around but to no avail
He stubs his toe on the bed rail

He doesn’t swear or even curse
He looks around and knows the curse
He goes to crawl back into bed
That’s when she gets you from under the bed

Tiger claws at God’s foot
She swats and plays with his foot
He reaches down and under the bed
He picks her up and shakes his head

He puts her on the bed
Then lays down his weary head
She lays and plays with his hand
As he tries to pet her with that hand

She stays all night
She tries to play all night
In the morning she’s gone again
God just waits for her to play again
