Ed & Rufuz:much love to both of you for the reviews but I can't control the kitty (ps-she didn't kill Rufuz)

You see something out of the corner of your eye
You’re not quite sure what
And you don’t know why
You whip around to stare at the spot
You suddenly realize you’ve been caught
Psycho Cat wants you next
You try to think of a hex
You don’t want that kind of death
You shudder at the thought of that death
You can’t figure out why you were chosen
You just know that you’re suddenly frozen
To that spot unable to move
Trying to think of her next move
Then you realize you have to bolt
But someone threw the bolt
The door is locked, you can’t get out
You pound on the door screaming for someone to let you out
Then you hear her happy purr
You turn around and see her fur
Standing straight up as she starts to wiggle
For some reason you start to giggle
Suddenly she jumps and you see red
“I’m not sorry that you’re dead.”
Is all she says as she goes out the window
Everyone dismisses the open window
Thinking it’s too small to let anyone in
She sits and watches as they all go in
She has a little kitty grin
The cops shake their heads and can be heard to say
“What did Ed do to deserve to die this way?”

Beside Still Waters by Jill Eisnaugle

Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
