Daddy came home once more
But this time he didn’t walk through the door
He was given a 21 gun salute
And even some Brits gave him a salute
Many soldiers cried that day
More than I had seen before that day
He was loved by all who knew him
And all of them will greatly miss him
Even though the loss was hard on our hearts
We will keep him close to our hearts
We will always remember the good times we had
And the loss will always make us so sad
But we have to go on every day
Thankful for all that he was able to do in his special way
